Summer Primary Chinese Language

With lecture notes and other teaching materials, the course aims to foster interest in language and instill in students a solid concept of language. It begins with fundamental knowledge and progresses to advanced topics. Students are also given substantial amount of assignments that help achieve the desired learning outcomes.


Words and sentences: Structure of Chinese characters; understanding Chinese radicals; understanding grammar and sentence structure; skills for re-ordering sentences
Writing: Rhetorical skills, techniques for different types of writing, such as narrations, descriptions, lyric essays and expositions


Skills for classical and modern Chinese comprehension
Usage: Different forms of letters, notices and announcements as well as other relevant points to note
Others: Understanding idioms and proverbs
